Artist Statement: In moments when we need to quiet our chaos, we turn inward and search our own souls, but we also look to others who are able to express our emotions more clearly than we ourselves can, often finding respite in music and poetry. This photo was taken in Granada, Nicaragua, an economically poor, but culturally rich nation. Throughout their struggles, poetry has remained. The arts will always be there for us when we need a brief retreat to step back and pause to reflect. ¡Viva la poesía!"
